1. What is the status of NATFM with regard to training of BSNL executives?

NATFM has been established by BSNL in January, 2001 as an apex level training academy in the field of Telecom finance and Management. Its objectives include – knowledge capture, propagation of management and commercial best practices, offer consultancy and advisory services, conduct workshops, seminars and trainings for all levels of managers, to conduct research studies and surveys in telecom and achieve leadership through excellence.

2. What is the need of NATFM when BSNL has other regional and national level training resources?

With the corporatisation of the erstwhile telecom department BSNL as a telecom company has been facing stiff challenges from other telecom operators who have also been given level playing ground in the matter of providing telecom services. To meet such challenges BSNL Corporate Office felt the need of adequately equipping executives of both engineering and finance streams with focused training on Telecom Finance and Management area such as Human Resource, Corporate Finance, Costing, Taxation , Business laws ,Customer Care, Marketing, as these subjects assumed entirely different view and approach from the new Millennium Business World. The existing training resources are found to be inadequate to meet the new challenges and hence this new academy.

3. Whether participants have to pay any fee for the training?

BSNL executives undergoing training in this academy are eligible for TA/DA as on TOUR. NATFM trainings are RESIDENTIAL in nature and free boarding and lodging are provided. Hence, participants are eligible for DA at 1/4th of the eligible rates under rules.

4. Whether any vehicle arrangement is available to pick up/drop from airport/railway stn/bus stand?

There are several arrival points in Hyderabad for trainees. Trainees reach NATFM from any of these arrival points at different arrival timings. Hence, the possibility for general Pick-up / drop facility for all trainees is not presently available. However, the location of NATFM can be easily reached by TRAINEES from any arrival point by Bus, Auto, Train or taxi etc very easily. NATFM is providing a simple MAP to enable participants to reach the training location from the arrival points easily. Click here for route map for the purpose. However, for SEMINARS attended by senior officers, NATFM hires eligible type of vehicles and certifies as such.

5. Whether Hyderabad climate requires separate winter/summer clothing’s?

Hyderabad offers almost fair whether conditions throughout the year. But, in summer months of April/May, the temperature may raise up to 40 to 44oC on a few days. In winter months of Dec/Jan, temperature may fall to around 11 to 15o C requiring woolen clothing in the early morning and night hours. Woolen blankets are provided in the hostel.

6. What is the special dressing requirement for YOGA classes?

Loose fitting casuals depending on individual choice are preferable for the YOGA classes. In other words, for gents, pajama type garments and for ladies, Chudidar types are usually convenient.

7. What is the procedure for sending nomination for workshops/ courses/ Seminars?

Participants are to be nominated by the respective controlling authorities thru’ their circle office. A copy may be simultaneously endorsed by Controlling Officers to NATFM by Fax [ To No: 040-23006688] for quick processing at NATFM end.

8. What is the procedure for confirming NOMINATIONS by NATFM?

NATFM sends confirmation of nominations as early as possible and also places the same on NATFM WEB SITE. Nominated candidates / controlling officers / circle offices can verify the Nomination particulars from NATFM WEB SITE also. In some cases for certain selected courses where class room capacity is exceeded, confirmations may be issued by NATFM FOR A SUBSEQUENT BATCH instead of for the batch requested for. This needs to be noted by candidates and circles carefully. In case of non- receipt of confirmation Controlling authorities should invariably cross-check with the faculty in charge of the course at NATFM before relieving any officer to ensure that seats are available both in class and hostel and course is not rescheduled and cancelled.

For distant circles like NE I, NE II, J&K, HIMACHAL, Uttaranchal part of UP circle, Hill regions of Bihar, WB etc, NATFM will accommodate not more than 2 candidates from the circles, even if nominations are received late and confirmations could not be sent in time by NATFM – provided the circles have nominated them and the candidates carry the nomination letter. For COMPUTER COURSES –which depend on Lab capacity, candidates must necessarily verify the confirmation of nomination from NATFM WEB SITE, or verify with NATFM TELEPHONICALLY – before starting their JOURNEY since there is no possibility of exceeding LAB CAPACITY OF 30 SEATS for such courses. In other words, the above mentioned circles and controlling officers CAN PERMIT such candidates to draw their advances, book their tickets etc soon after nomination – without waiting for confirmation from NATFM.

9. Whether stay at NATFM hostel is compulsory for all the participants?

All the training programs in this academy are residential in nature. Participants must stay in the hostel on the campus. In very exceptional cases, CGM NATFM may permit a participant to take own arrangements for stay. PRIOR permission must be obtained in such cases, for the entire period of training, but, class room discipline and attendance must be ensured without fail.
